I lived on the Upper West Side for decades, and have ben living in a much admired condo building (64 units) in Florida for the last 9 years. I noticed at first small bites on my legs that same night and the following morning I had about a total of 15 bites through out my whole body. It was a corner deluxe Queen room and it was fantastic. There is a mini pastry and coffee shop in the center of the lobby. (I had requested a lower level room that was close to exits because I was in the third trimester of my pregnancy.) This is an old place that needs to be thoroughly cleaned and exterminated. Upon check in, the hotel had upgraded us to a Deluxe Queen, which was really appreciated. If you value your health and don't want to have a pox-face, go elsewhere. Renovating still but nicely done modern rooms, fairly spacious and a gorgeous building. Seems to do a lot of business with the airline crews.Stay as long as you can get a good rate. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags. Our room was really great. Overall, it was a great choice for us and I would definitely stay here again. There were 2 tiny elevators for us to use and we did not have a problem with either, not a long wait at any time. We have stayed at the Belleclaire since we first discovered it a few years ago while they were renovating. I loved this hotel. Being right outside the elevator, we did hear a lot of noise but that was expected, so we were not overly bothered. Small hotel with a non existent lobby that was under renovation. I think it might be significant that the hotel had still not been totally renovated and had previously been an SRO hotel.
